Mythic Miami
Mythic Miami was a companion exhibition developed by the HistoryMiami Museum exhibition team to run alongside Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns& Mermaids, highlighting South Florida folklore and urban legends from El Chupacabra to La Sirena and the Skunk Ape. The goal was to present a more localized exploration of the topic to create a stronger sense of connection for visitors.
I was tasked with creating graphic elements to accompany the artifacts and enhance the overall visitor experience. In collaboration with the Exhibition Director we developed a concept that immersed visitors in the Everglades where many of these stories originate.
There was also illustrated large scale wall graphics that I created to align with the visual language of the Mythic Creatures marketing campaign while remaining mindful of production and paint budget constraints. Working closely with the in-house exhibition preparation team that helped translate my designs into hand painted environments that brought the space to life.
On top of all of that I designed labels, signage and interactive elements including floor decals highlighting photo moments, mock field-note clipboards with additional legends and activity sheets inviting visitors to share their own mythical stories.
