FLIGHT DECK
FLIGHT DECK is an interactive activation that explores the science of flight through immersive airplane and remote-control simulators. Featuring 180 degree visuals, the experience allows visitors ages 8 and up to pilot and master landings, offering hands-on, realistic STEM learning as part of the center’s expansion.
As Senior Graphic Designer, I led the branding and environmental graphics for the space. I developed a visual identity that aligned with the science center’s brand while introducing a playful, illustrative style to engage younger audiences. This included designing custom illustrations of aircrafts that you can select in the simulators to communicate key principles of flight within the main panels.
A key challenge was designing within a repurposed loading dock, requiring thoughtful spatial planning. I determined the placement and scale of graphics to maximize visibility and flow, including the design of an introductory banner that accommodated functional door access without disrupting the experience.
As part of the program, I also designed a punch card that would let repeat visitors earn a collectible “earn your wings” pin with both the Science Center’s logo and the exhibits branding. I developed other promotional material as well such as a social media graphic and boarding passes that acted as tickets.
